Olli Whittle is a freelance audio producer and sound tech, currently living in London

Before

He started his life in radio when he landed the main part in the Christmas panto for  XpressionFM. From this route in, he then became presenter trained on the Myriad system during the Autumn term of 2009 and launched his first weekly show in December of that year.

Since then Olli has presented numerous shows throughout the three years he was at XpressionFM (some of these can be found here), he also learnt production skills for CoolEdit and Audition during this time leading to the creation of self styled radio plays and other features.

In 2010 Olli was elected as XpressionFM’s Head of Events and set about organising outside broadcasts and competitions for the radio station. During this year Olli also started the blog FaceForRadio to document weekly music picks and talk about the shows he was presenting a little more.

In 2011 Olli was elected as XpressionFM’s Station Manager and ran the station for a year. During the period of 2011-12 XpressionFM won it’s first Gold Student Radio Award for Best Student Radio Chart Show, a project that Olli supported and was a part of. Olli accepted this award at the SRAs on the behalf of the Heads of Music.

In 2012, having graduated from the University of Exeter, Olli proceeded to take up the role of Activities Coordinator. This position meant that he carried on supporting the student media, but from the staff side of the students’ union.

In 2014 Olli left the role of Activities Coordinator to focus on the radio side of his life more. Since leaving the Guild, Olli has been involved in volunteering as a Broadcast Assistant at RinseFM, covering various festivals and events for Roundhouse Radio, volunteering at Heart Southwest and presenting on Hospital Radio Tunbridge Wells whilst working on demos and voice work. He has also worked as a production intern at TBI Media (you can see this work on the ‘Editing Work‘ page). He has just finished working as the Daytime Producer for Rinse FM.
